Scottish Environmental Protection Agency
We were approached by SEPA, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency because they had a problem. Like everyone else, they had to continually find a way to ‘feed the media beast’ – social media and broadcasters who wanted video of all the stories they felt needed to be told. To hire a production company was expensive, and they spent more time trying to explain the stories to the producers, as well as having to take them to the various sites around Scotland. As it turned out, it was far easier simply to empower the SEPA staffers and field workers to shoot, edit and produce compelling video stories on their own, using only their phones.
We ended up putting almost the entire SEPA staff through our 5-Day Intensive Video Storytelling Bootcamp. The result was that SEPA was able to tell their own stories, whenever they wanted, and at almost no additional cost.
