laughable and lamentable.
Poor, pathetic, sad little Fox News.
They clearly don’t get it at all.
Fox recently annouced a new category of reporters:
Junior Reporters
Says Fox: “The idea behind the program is to give the reporter enough cutting-edge gear that is portable enough and easy enough for them to be a one-person band,” says Sharri Berg, senior vice president of news operations and services at Fox.
Yes – Junior Reporters
These reporters will carry their own cameras, shoot their own stories, edit them and produce them.
You know… JUNIORÂ REPORTERS.
Real reporters, as we all know, have make up people, hair people, people who shoot their stories for them, who write their copy for them and an assignment desk that finds their stories for them.
We call these people – at least around here – actors.
In the meantime, we like a few JUNIORÂ REPORTERS.
Junior reporters like Michelle Michael who just won the NPPA VJ or the Year Award.
We also like JUNIORÂ REPORTERSÂ like Raul Gallego Abellan who stopped by here to pick up his Royal Television Society Award.
He stopped off between reporting from Cairo. He was on his way to Tripoli.
Oh yeah….
JUNIORÂ REPORTERS.
Says Fox of the JUNIORÂ REPORTERS:
All five of the reporters were put through an extensive training program in New York to learn everything from camera operation to editing. They not only come up with the stories but will produce, write, film and edit each report.
WOW!
Mayby, just maybe, FOXÂ NEWSÂ should put some of their SENIORÂ REPOTERSÂ through such training so they have some basic working knowledge of the medium in which they are supposed to be working.
Of course, if Fox New doesn’t have that kind of training, I know where they can get it.

i realize their $ is as green as anyone’s, but you’d probably get better results teaching the “stars” of the soon-to-be-hit new canadian cable launch “the rotisserie channel” than you would most of fox’s SENIOR REPORTERS.
(you simply gotta google ‘the rotisserie channel’)
fox vs poultry.
