Lots of promise…..
Kelly Doe, who is a graphic designer at The New York Times sent me a link to this.
Looxcie, a wearable video camera.
It could be an interesting step in video production.
What looks like a handle in the picture above is actually the thing that fits behind your ear.
That’s how small it is.
It’s interesting.
I have not tried one out yet. I emailed the company yesterday to see if we could get a loaner for a few days as a test and they sent me back the following email:
Hello and thank you for your interest in Looxcie!
For general product and purchasing information, please visit us at http://www.looxcie.com.
Please note that many of the answers to your questions can be found either at our main website, or specifically from the support section of our website where you can search our comprehensive Answers Database.
So while the hardware looks interesting for any videographer, the marketing department probably needs a bit of fine-tuning.
In any event, I will keep trying,
I did find a few Looxcie videos on Youtube. These also leave a lot to be desired.
You will have to go to the link as they are, for some strange reason, not embeddable.
(again, with the marketing dept).
They might take a lesson from Hasselblad.
As you will recall, Lisa got me the H4D for my birthday last month and so I went to the web to see how other people were using this camera.
Hasselblad has take the initiative to give their cameras (on loan, I am sure) to some of the best photographers in the world.
I would be happy to produce an instruction video here at our online film school for Looxcie for NYVS (assuming its any good), but first they gotta send me a camera!
