New on VJ this week is a lesson on the iPhone X video features. The new lesson is in our Working with Smartphones course. We have been filming with the iPhone X for the past few weeks and have been very impressed with the upgraded camera.
Smartphones, and the iPhone in particular, are amazing video tools. They are small, light-weight and unassuming, can shoot, edit and publish video, and they are in the pockets of millions of people around the world. These factors combined make it clear that smartphones have the potential to completely uproot and change the video industry. Smartphones can give a video producer so much more access than they could have gotten with a bag of “professional” gear. Because almost everyone has a smartphone it is much more unassuming when you enter a shooting situation. People act more naturally when captured on a smartphone than a big bulky camera, and you are less likely to draw a lot of attention with it either.
The new iPhone X is an amazing example of that potential. The phone has the best camera you will find on a smartphone and can rival almost any “professional” camera out there. And the phone has a slew of new features and hardware that make it a video producer’s ideal tool.
In the new lesson you will learn about the new cameras on the phone, the video features of the phone, and some best practices for using it. We’ll also show you some of the great apps you can use with the phone to make your video as professional as it can be.
You can check out the new lesson here, and if you have been using your new iPhone X for video we would love to see what you are producing.
