@philipbromwell shoots and astonishing broadcast piece with an iPhone for RTE/Ireland
@GlenBMulcahy has always been on the cutting edge of the use of new technologies for broadcast and journalism, but now he takes RTE to an entirely new level of quality.
Take a good look at this and tell me that iPhone is not broadcast quality.

Do we know what app he used for the filming or was it just the included video camera?

FCPX, I think

A very well shot film. I have a couple of technical questions. I assume he used a tripod. If so what model? The sound was also good quality. Did he use a lapel mic attached to the iphone or a radio mic?
I have just bought an iphone 5S and would value any advice for achieving a similar standard.
Cheers

Hi Roger!
You can get one of those small Gorilla Grip tripods for your iPhone. We use them all the time. Also bought them for the UN/ Work great. As for audio, there is a wide range of external mics you can use with the iPhone. Critical for broadcast, needless to say, and a range of prices, but all pretty reasonable.
