This is the way to sell hats!
The video above was shot and produced entirely on an iPhone.
And not even by a ‘professional’.
It was made by Guy Hills  to help sell his invention – The Hanky Hat.
As soon as I saw it, I had to know more, so I wrote to guy to ask him how he had made it.
Here’s his answer:
Dear Michael,
I would be flattered if you posted the Hanky Hat video on your blog. Thanks so much.
I invented the Hanky Hat this summer as an iconic fusion of British head wear.
As you see below in the 1948 Olympics Handkerchiefs worn as hats were popular with the crowd. In addition it is classic head wear for East Londoners heading off to the seaside.
My version is a cross between Cricket Umpire and Cockney Geezer and can be tied in various ways. The Hanky Hat is being made by the Royal Hat maker Patey.
In order to market the hat I thought I would write a song, I wrote the lyrics and Guy Chambers ( of Robbie Williams ‘Angels’ song writing fame) helped with the music and recorded it in his studio. The actor Luke Brandon-Field had been modelling for me and said he could sing, so along with the singer Jessica Mary York and Ukulele player and musican Martin Wheatley we all went to Guy’s studio and left two and half hours later with the complete song.
The apparent ease of the song writing inspired me to shoot the single take video on my iPhone. Despite the rain I persuaded a few friends to turn up at the local pub. Then we just walked along the route listening to the song and I told people to wait on their spot while I ran back to the start with Luke and recorded it. I tried three takes and the whole thing took about 40 minutes.
Check it out. It’s incredibly impressive.
And, if you want to order a hat, you can get one at  Dashingtweeds.
