Predictable? You bet!
OK
We’ve been talking for a while about the burgeoning market for video.
Now, I have received an email from a show on Dutch Public Television and they’re looking for a few VJ correspondents worldwide.
Here’s what they said:
Hey Michael,
Good to hear from you.
In a nutshell:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â We pay roughly 1000-2000 euro for each finished report of 3-5 minutes. Depends on where people are located and how they work
-         We start with topic lists, each episode is build around one global topic, and we expect from our reporters t find creative/unexpected angles with those topics – stories that show on a small, personal scale fhow this topic is perceived in their culture. I have attached the latest topic listThe real capital of this project is our reporter network – we do not aim at quantity, we don’t want to have 100’s of reporters, but with every new series we try to increase the overall quality of the reporter network. At this moment we have about 40 great reporters, and I believe we need at least 10 more to have a good basis for the next 18 episodes that are coming up. So that’s why I’d be really interested to see if we could expand our network with your help. I just learned that one of our contributors has granted us an extra fee for the next few months, that we can spend on finding new correspondents and have them produce the first 1 or 2 reports. Main part of that money should be spend in European (and connecting) countries (also Russia, Belarus, Marocco etc.), but we can use a part of it as well to work with new people from other continents.
