The New York Post
Around here we believe that the greatest career opportunities for video are in newspapers and magazines as they transit to iPads and mobile.
iPads and mobile are, by definition, screens.
And screens demand video
What kind of video is a function of what kind of content and readership the newspaper and magazine already have.
Bob Krist, one of National Geographic Magazine’s top photographers is taking the bootcamp this week with USAÂ TODAY.

The video above, for The Post, was done by Francisco Aliwalas, one of our instructors here at nyvs.
Tiffany Burnett, another of our instructors, is also a VJ for The New York Post.
We’re hoping that after the USA TODAY bootcamp is over, Bob can take us into National Geographic and convince them to start commissioning our VJs.
They probably won’t do car washes, but they might to The Coliseum.

You know Nat Geo hired Shane Reynolds (VJ for Travel Channel for many years) for a series called Shane Untamed, right? It’s airing now on Nat Geo Wild. Not sure how much of it was actually a VJ type model, since there was certainly a crew that went with him to the four corners of the earth, but I know he initially wowed them with his reel that is totally VJ style.
