The shocking demise of Flipcam last week became even more shocking when it was revealed that Cisco was about to release a new version of Flipcam that streamed video direclty to the web.
This marriage of video and web seems the obvious next step, vmail replaces email, so to speak
So it is not surprising that a new player has emerged to occupy that space – nature abhors a vacuum
The company, Viddy.com, and the app by the same name, just completed a $1.5 million round of financing.
It seems like it was a good investment on the part of the VCs. Launched just a week ago, Viddy.com is averaging 10,000 downloads a day.
Check out #viddy on your Tweetdeck.
The app allows you to share videos with friends and followers – just like Twitter, but in video, obviously.
It also allows one-click iMovie simple editing.
Viddy is free to download from the Apple iTunes app store for iOS and supports cameras on the iPhone 3GS and 4G.

We find this a very interesting development.
