Hello? Hello? Anyone home over there?
Last week, 60 Minutes, the CBS News program initiated an interesting idea.
Shoot a video, tell us what you think or what questions you have and we’ll air and answer them.
Fair enough. And interesting idea.
Let the audience speak back to 60 Minutes – you know, the way you can online all the time.
So I shot my own question and comment and posted it as instructed.
It sat there for about a week with a few votes, both up and down.
Fair enough again.
There were about 200 messages posted, and they ran the spectrum from ‘I love 60 Minutes’ to the nutjobs at the political extremes, but that’s a free press for you.
What is 60 Minutes going to do now, I wondered.
I got my answer this evening.
They have taken the whole thing down, without a comment.
It has just disappeared from their site.
Not a word why.
Like it never happened.
So here’s my next question to 60 Minutes…
When am I gonna get an answer to my video question…
and (do I get 2?), what happened to all the other questions and video submissions.
Don’t you feel you have some responsibiity to follow through. You started it?
You requested the submissions.
Hello?
Lara Logan, are you there?
Hello?
Anyone home?
