I spent five years training more then 750 journalists to be VJs at The BBC between 2000 and 2005.
Now, five years later, we are back at The Beeb, running another pilot bootcamp. This time we are in Bristol with Natural History, the same folks who made Blue Planet. And this time, it’s not for news but for every other division.
The BBC is looking to get into both the VJ world and the world of online video in a major way.
My guess is if they do this right, they’ll become the gold standard for short form, online video.
Here’s hoping. And here’s our first group of 42 hopefuls.
