Empowering women with film, video and TV
Two and a half years ago we launched the Travel Channel Academy.
No one knew if it would work.
No one had even heard of such a crazy idea. Teach and empower your own viewers to pick up video cameras and start making content for the network and get paid for the best of it?
Crazy.
It worked.
It worked really really well.
Thousands of people have gone through the Travel Channel Academy and it’s still going strong.
And the concept was so good, that other networks took an interest.
So yesterday, we launched WEtv Film Academy, in partnership with WEtv.
The concept?
In the era of the Internet, viewers can be more than just viewers – they can be participants in the medium.
By Technorati’s count, there are more than 112 million blogs in the world today.
That’s a whole lot of ’empowered’ people.
People want to participate – not just watch or read.
And now, thanks to WEtv, they can.
Go check out the site.
Tell us what you think.
And if you like it, sign up!

Best of luck to WEtv. This is going to really make a huge and positive impact on their network. The Travel Channel Academy has changed my life and I can’t thank Michael Rosenblum and the rest of the gang for making it happen! Can’t wait to hear who else will jump on the bandwagon!
