This weekend we’re down at the City University of NY Graduate School of Journalism where we are running another 4-day Travel Channel Academy.
Lisa preps the students on the ins and outs of legal releases, (their favorite lecture), as well as music rights, and then they are off to hit the streets of NY for another full day of shooting.
Tomorrow, at 3PM, we screen their final work.
Stand by.

Hi Michael and Lisa,
Well I’m back home in New Orleans, after being one of those students to “hit the streets of NYC” this past weekend, planning what I’ll be submitting to the Travel Channel in the near future…….when I had an “AH-HA” moment.
Here I am this morning at the kitchen table with my coffee and the Times-Picayune’s Lagniappe section reading the AP article about Michael Moore’s possible new direction into fiction filmmaking when Moore’s quote jumps off the page at me, “Making a good movie is about telling a good story, and you can do that through fiction or nonfiction.” Then came the visions of you Michael in class saying the very same thing…….and Don Hewitt of 60 Minutes said it too.
So…….I definitely get it when this diverse group has the exact same conviction and direction.
Thanks for a real learning experience!
