Prague… home to RFE
We are here in Prague to kick off our first VJ training bootcamp with Radio Free Europe.
While RFE is headquartered in Prague, its work today takes place in locations like Kazakhstan or Turkemenstan.
And journalists from across Central Asia and the former Soviet Republics are gathered here at the Prague headquarters to start their conversion to Videojournalism, and becoming digital/video journalists.
We’re delighted to work with RFE and the dedicated journalists who endeavour to cover stories in countries where a free press is not a given.
As well, we’re delighted that RFE has elected to move into the digital age with us.
We’ll keep you posted on the progress. But heading our course here is Tim French, a longtime trainer with us, and of late, head of VJ training at the Los Angeles Times. It was a long flight from LA to Prague last night, but well worth the trip.
Tim is joined by our trainer, Yaroslav Kofman who will be doing all his VJ training in Russian.

Hey, seriously, I heard that WCBS only gets 17,000 viewers for their early evening news and WNBC gets 31,000. Is this possible? Can those be the numbers? Seems a bit hard to believe. Any ideas?

Wonderful!
Another government funded group goes VJ!
It’s a good thing they don’t have to rely on actual viewers to supply their paychecks! 😉
