Kvelling…. albeit from a distance…
Last night, Al Gore and Joel Hyatt won an Emmy for Interactive Television for Current.tv
Mazel Tov.
Having been present at the creation, I am delighted that the network has succeeded.
(As a shareholder, I can only hope and pray it goes the route of Youtube!)
The recognition of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences takes this notion of ‘democratizing’ television into ever more serious realms, which is good for us and good for the movement.
Current.tv, I think, is only the very tip of the iceberg. It is the beginning, but a very good beginning. Over time the people who contribute the work will become ever more proficient, their work will be better, and they will move out into the greater marketplace of video, both television and online.
It’s a very very good start.
